Four Mile Lake sits near Coboconk and Burnt River, in the northwestern part of Kawartha Lakes. Unlike many lakes in the region, it’s a closed system, its only connections are Corben Creek flowing in and out, so there’s no through-boat traffic from the wider Trent-Severn chain. For buyers who want lake life without the wake of passing boats, that’s often exactly the draw.
At just over 6 kilometres long, the lake sits across two landscapes: granite shoreline and Canadian Shield along its northern third, and limestone cliffs with rare alvar habitat along the south. About 450 cottages and homes line its shore, and anglers come for bass, muskellunge, walleye, and perch.
Because it’s self-contained, Four Mile Lake tends to appeal to buyers looking for a quieter, more private lake, still close to the shops and services in Coboconk, Fenelon Falls, and Kinmount.
